11/10/2010 - End of Season 21, Season 22 Into The New Year

Season 22 will take us into 2011 as www.itsagoal.com continues to provide managers with the best online football management game around, against all the odds. Thanks for this must go to the admin team, past and present, for their efforts over the years to keep the game going.

Season 21 saw the new managers at White Hart Winners and MOT Whites pick up their first trophies at their clubs, with Bammer claiming the League cup title at WHW, and TMFKAF securing the Fortress Premiership in some style with MOT. Both managers will hope this is the first of many trophies they can bring the their respective clubs.

Season 21 also saw the ongoing revolution at Jemfys Diamonds take a step closer to glory, finishing as runners up in both the league cup and the league. Jemfy will be hoping he still has time in his busy schedule to take the club that one step further, and claim a trophy, but this won't be an easy task as we step into an uncertain season 22 for all managers.

11/10/2010 - Fortress Update

Lets begin with another impressive Super Cup win for bigtykesen's MOT Whites in season 19. Continuing his record breaking tenure by becoming the first manager to retain the IAG Cup.

Legendary Fortress manager TopGun2, decided his time was up at White Hart Winners, and left the club at the end of season 19 after the club saw a drop in the very high standards it sets, and decided a new manager was the right way to go. MOT Whites manager bigtykesen, also called it a day at the start of the season 21 campaign, having won another league and cup double with his team in season 20.

Fortress now welcomes Bammer at White Hart Winners, and TMFKAF at MOT Whites, both of whom will be looking to bring more success to these clubs in the future.

More to come in recent weeks, concentrating on current Fortress managers, and the impressive rise of Jemfys Diamonds.

04/05/2010 - Fortress Manager Of the Month kicks off with joint celebrations.

The inaugural Fortress manager of the month award was a closely contested affair between Skinderskov FC manager Brother, and TopGun2 of Premiership leaders White Hart Winners.

After several rounds of voting the pair could not be separated so the first Fortress MOM award will be shared between the two. scotty1962 of Perfectlemonade and lawtons11_2nd of THE UNTOUCHABLES 2nd also deserve a mention for their perfect starts to the season.

All four managers picked up maximum points in the first 12 games of the season during the month of April

19/04/2010 - The IAG Super Cup retained by Fortress! - Again

An unprecendented third consecutive Super Cup was brought home to Fortress by MOT Whites manager bigtykesen in season 18. This cup win rounded off a treble winning season for the manager who has now made his own mark on the club and it's fans, who now hold him in the same regard as the manager who laid the foundations, DchRoxanne.

The cup win not only meant that it's the third time in a row that the biggest prize in IAG has been brought back to Fortress, but also means that Fortress is the most succesful league in IAG Cup history, having won the trophy five times. To add to this the runners up were TopGun2's White Hart Winners, which further confirms Fortress dominance in this competition so far.

Both managers will agree that the toughest tests lie ahead, and continuing this success is the biggest challenge faced by the two flagship Fortress teams.

Building on bigtyksen's Super Cup success last season, TopGun2 kept the cup in Fortress after a hard fought victory on penalties against simondo68's Boondock Saints. This makes it the fourth time in the last six seasons that the top trophy in IAG has resided in Fortress.

MOT Whites manager bigtyksen didn't finish the season empty handed however, having cruised to win the Fortress Premiership by 12 points.

19/11/2009 - The IAG Super Cup returns to Fortress!

In only his first season as manager of MOT Whites, bigtyksen managed to win the big prize in the world of IAG, The Super Cup. This capped a hugely succesful year for the manager as he had won the Dragon League Cup just before joining the Fortress league. MOT Whites fans hope this is a sign of things to come, and there are whispers around Blackshaw Lane that a serious Premiership title challenge could be on the cards in season 17.

Elsewhere in Fortress, White Hart Winners walked away with their tenth Fortress Premiership trophy, in season 16, with TopGun2 maintaining his position as the top manager in IAG. This further enforces Fortress' position as one of the strongest leagues in the game

IAG manager Levrier has set up the long awaited IAG Directory at http://iagdirectory.webs.com. Visit the site to add your IAG related site, or browse other managers creations.

27/10/2009 - Duncan Skinner retires

It has come to our attention that Clwb FC 20 legend, Duncan Skinner, has decided to hang up his boots after only a handful of appearances for his second club, Burselden Bombers. Skinner played only a few times for his new club, but after the manager who captured the experienced striker's signature, Afrodisiac, left the club, it became clear to Skinner that his time was up. An altercation with the new caretaker manager during the reset was enough to convince him to return to Clwb FC 20 in an ambassadorial role, a role which he knew awaited him on retirement from playing.

In an exclusive interview with Fortressian Times, Skinner commented that "I've no time for Vincent Caretaker, or whatever his name is. I never liked playing against him and i certainly didnae wanna play for him. Luckily he didn't seem to like me either, and will probably replace me with someone older and on higher wages!"

When asked about his future plans he replied "I'm just gonna help Rab and Jock with the decontamination job on the West stand at Twenty Fields, and do whatever i can for the club."

14/10/2009 - Greencheese Rovers manager resigns

After 13 seasons as manager of Greencheese Rovers, spoogledrummer has decided to call it a day. After gaining promotion from the Championship in season 7, the club has been a steady performer in the tough Fortress premiership, but has struggled to keep up with the bigger Fortress teams in recent seasons. Spoogle has already been snapped up by Division 8 club, Dalts Allstars, where the chairman hopes his experience will lead them to the Premiership.

21/09/2009 - Fortress welcomes it's new managers

We were joined this week by ryanz, who gained a reputation in the world of ITSAGOAL.com during his time at CSM, where he won the Hammer League Cup three times in a row and achieved six back to back Divisional Championships. After helping behind the scenes of IAG for what have become known as "the post CSM seasons" amongst his followers, he recently took a break from the game to pursue something known as "real life", an activity often neglected by many managers. Having returned from this alien activity, he joins one of the most competetive leagues in the game, and looks to make it even stronger by turning his new team - Devonian Rage - into a force to be reckoned with

The new managers joining Fortress can be seen on a weekly basis on the (you guessed it) "New Managers" page.

18/09/2009 - The ITSAGOAL.com Facebook page is now up and running.

10/09/2009 - Bombshell dropped at AFC Wombledin

It has just been announced, that AFC Wombledin, Fortress Division 4 Champions, and their most successful Manager, Levrier, will part company at the end of season.

At the hastily arranged Press Conference, the Chairman was asked for his comments on the matter, but only answered by saying “ Ize ams velly sowry, bit Ize doose no speeka ze Eengleesh”. His Secretary added that the Clubs Interpreter, Boot cleaner, Wayne, was indisposed, as he was in Hospital, recovering from an overdose of Pukka Pies. Even when released, Mr. Rooney would be convalescing at the clubs Rest Centre in Benidorm for quite a while. Manager, Levrier, then rose to his feet and made the following statement.

“I am as sick as a Penguin. After four successive promotions, I am gutted. In hindsight, with the massive wage bill inherited, I should have realised things were going to be difficult when I took over. Income was regularly improving, but I was rarely offered any of the substantial profits for new players and staff.”

“I will be moving on shortly, to pastures new, within the Fortress world. My recent gain of a GCSE (Grade F-) in Football Club Cash Flow, will ensure that this cannot happen again while I’m the Manager.”

“Good Luck to the next Manager who takes over the new regime. With the aid of a cash injection by the Board, and introduction of some new players, he will surely do well.” A Norwegian consortium from Milton Keynes have already shown interest.

Levrier continued, “I have already been approached by a Division 7 club, and will consider their fantastic opportunity in the next couple of days. They have put on the table, an offer I will find very difficult to refuse, and they stated, that I was the only one who can take them to future glory. The local Council have already informed me of their backing, financially, by committing £47.50 towards stand improvements, as have local residents, bringing the total to well over £60.”

“A giant step in the right direction. I did not realise, that sort of support was possible” said a very excited Levrier. “This, and a Chairman who speaks English, will certainly make us a force to be reckoned with, over the next few seasons.”
